The Story of the Revenge Dress




On June 29th, 1994, Princess Diana was due to attend a dinner hosted by Vanity Fair at the Serpentine Gallery. 
She purchased a dress from the designer, Valentino. Much to Diana's displeasure and, in what has since been 
described as crude opportunism, his house released a premature, unauthorised press statement about the 
dress. Princess Diana immediately changed her mind and decided to wear one of her most important dresses - 
'The Revenge Dress', designed by Christina Stambolian.
